The Challenge
Coca-Cola’s Open Happiness platform needed to connect with people during Ramadan in a way that felt real, warm, and close to daily life.
The challenge was to create a campaign moment that did more than advertise the brand.
It needed to bring happiness into the street, surprise people, and turn a normal day into a memorable Coca-Cola moment.
The Campaign Idea
The idea was built around a simple question:
Where will the next moment of happiness come from?
A Coca-Cola branded truck moved through the city, creating unexpected moments of joy for people passing by.
The campaign used real street interaction, public participation, and the emotional energy of Ramadan to bring the Open Happiness idea to life.
My Role
I was part of the creative team working on the Coca-Cola Open Happiness campaign.
My contribution was within the campaign’s creative development, helping shape the idea, activation logic, and communication flow.
The work focused on making the campaign feel simple, human, and emotionally connected to Ramadan.
The Creative Direction
The film starts with a clear emotional statement:
There are many reasons to believe tomorrow can be better.
From there, the story moves into real streets, real people, and spontaneous reactions around the Coca-Cola truck.
The creative direction focused on:
- Street-level happiness
- Real consumer interaction
- Ramadan warmth
- Coca-Cola’s red visual identity
- A simple emotional ending
- Brand presence without making the story feel forced
The Activation Logic
The truck became more than a branded vehicle.
It became a moving happiness trigger.
People interacted with it, gathered around it, and received moments of surprise from Coca-Cola.
This helped the brand move from communication to experience.
The Brand Role
Coca-Cola was positioned as the brand that creates small shared moments of happiness.
The campaign did not rely only on product shots.
It used the brand as a source of emotion, connection, and positive energy during Ramadan.
The Outcome
The result was a 60-second activation film that translated the Open Happiness platform into a local Ramadan moment.
The film showed how a global brand idea could become culturally relevant through a simple street activation.
Why This Project Matters
This project shows how a brand platform can become a real-life experience.
Open Happiness was not treated as a slogan.
It became an action people could see, feel, and participate in.
