The Challenge

Egypt needed a tourism campaign that could speak to international travelers in Europe and the USA.

The challenge was to present Egypt beyond the expected image of pyramids and ancient history.

The campaign needed to show Egypt as a destination full of discovery, culture, adventure, spirituality, and curiosity.

The Objective

The main objective was awareness.

The campaign needed to increase interest in Egypt as a travel destination and make international audiences want to explore more than one side of the country.

The Campaign Idea

The campaign was built around the line:

Come Curious.

The idea invited travelers to approach Egypt with a sense of discovery.

Each execution presented a destination as a world of clues, objects, stories, and experiences.

Instead of showing only a standard travel photo, the campaign turned each place into a visual journey.

My Role

I was involved in the creative development of the campaign.

My work contributed to shaping the visual direction, storytelling approach, and destination communication across campaign assets.

The goal was to make Egypt feel rich, layered, and worth exploring.

Creative Direction

The campaign used a board-game and discovery-inspired visual language.

Each destination was presented as a detailed composition filled with symbols, artifacts, textures, and local references.

The creative direction focused on:

  • Rich destination storytelling
  • Cultural and historical detail
  • Layered visual compositions
  • A sense of exploration and curiosity
  • Strong place-based identity
  • Premium tourism communication
  • Flexible layouts for print and digital formats

The visuals made each destination feel like a story waiting to be explored.

Destination Storytelling

Each artwork focused on a different Egyptian experience.

St. Catherine

The St. Catherine execution focused on spiritual heritage, religious history, mountain landscapes, and one of Egypt’s most meaningful cultural sites.

The visual world used religious symbols, monastery references, and heritage elements to present the destination as a place of reflection and discovery.

Hurghada

The Hurghada execution focused on the Red Sea experience.

It highlighted diving, beaches, marine life, water activities, and the sense of escape that makes Hurghada attractive to international travelers.

Luxor

The Luxor execution focused on Egypt’s ancient capital and its historical depth.

It used pharaonic symbols, temple references, artifacts, and exploration cues to present Luxor as a destination filled with history and wonder.

Communication Strategy

The campaign avoided a generic tourism message.

It used curiosity as the main emotional driver.

The idea was to make people feel that Egypt is not a destination you only visit.

It is a destination you explore.

This helped position Egypt as a country with multiple travel motivations:

  • History
  • Culture
  • Adventure
  • Spirituality
  • Beach tourism
  • Discovery

Channel Execution

Print

The print executions were designed as detailed destination posters.

The layered compositions encouraged viewers to spend time exploring the visual details, which supported the campaign’s “Come Curious” idea.

Meta

For Meta, the campaign assets were adapted to work as attention-grabbing destination visuals.

The strong imagery and clear destination names helped make the campaign suitable for social reach and engagement.

YouTube

YouTube supported broader awareness by allowing the campaign to extend into video storytelling, destination discovery, and travel inspiration content.

Brand Role

Visit Egypt was positioned as an invitation to discover more.

The campaign connected Egypt with:

  • Curiosity
  • Culture
  • Heritage
  • Adventure
  • Diversity
  • Emotional discovery

This helped move the destination image from a single historical perception into a richer travel experience.

The Outcome

The final campaign created a flexible tourism communication platform for international awareness.

It gave Visit Egypt a visual system that could promote different destinations while keeping one clear campaign idea.

Each execution worked as a standalone destination story while still belonging to the wider “Come Curious” platform.

Why This Project Matters

This project shows how tourism communication can create deeper destination interest.

The campaign did not only show places.

It turned each destination into a story, giving travelers more reasons to discover Egypt.
